Short biography:	Born in Bangalore, India and studied South Indian carnatic flute, mrdangam, tavil & kanjira. Moved to Canada in 1976 and studied western music theory and was influenced by jazz and contemporary composers like Harry Partch, Steve Reich amongst others.
