Ibrahim Gurel was born in Istanbul, Turkey. Being a member of a family of musicians, he progressed quickly. When he was a teenager, he gave several concerts of pop music, rock, jazz, blues, folk and traditional music of Turkey. At the age of 16, he met Erdal Erzincan, a music virtuoso who taught him the baglama further. In 2000, he emigrated in Canada. He gave concerts in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. He made the music of a documentary about the great earthquake that has occurred in Turkey. At present, he is a student at Concordia University and also he is working as an expert analyst supporting Pharmaceutical studies.
