Turquebec
At the inauguration of the Turkish National Assembly in April 23rd 1920 Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (founder of the Republic) dedicated the day to the children. Since 1979 this day has evolved into a friendship, cultural and international festival for the youth of the world. Every year on this date, children from all corners of the world are invited to Turkey to participate in the festivities. This is the 14th such event organized by TURQUEBEC (the Turkish Quebec Cultural and Friendship Association) in Montreal.
