The dance workshop of Bharata Natya with Lasya was a huge success!! The participation of 100 children, ages 9-12, from Barclay public school in Parc Extension was a rejuvenating experience. Congratulations to all!

A dance workshop Bharata Natya with Lasya
on September 26th, 2008 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
at Gesù: 1200, rue Bleury
For AGE GROUPS: 9-12 years, grades 3, 4, 5 and 6
Length of workshop: 60 minutes
Discover India through dance!
A classical Indian dance workshop with Lasya for all children. Learning of several postures and techniques such as salutation, feet and hand movements, facial expressions, and more.
Conducted in French and English – Wheelchair accessible.
Lasya, School of Bharata Natya
Lasya, founded by Seema Srivastava, Jaya Srivastava and Alexandra Van Veeren, is a school of Indian classical dance known as Bharata Natya. All three accomplished teachers have trained in this style of dance for over twenty years and represent a new generation of artists who are sharing their passion for dance with others.

Students arrive at 1:15 pm:
Festival Accès Asie Asie welcomes the students at the Gesù entrance hall.
1:30 pm:
Students enter the theatre for the dance workshop with Lasya.
2:30 pm:
The workshop ends and students depart.
*** Students are to wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes that are closed.
